Norwegian/chinese cooperation with the Ethiopian Employers Association

Last updated: 22.04.2014 // The confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and the China Enterprise Confederation have for some time been working together with The Ethiopian Employers Association to strengthen its capacity through financial and technical support. Ambassador Kvalheim participated in a workshop-panel in Addis Abeba on April 1st, organized by the three organizations.

 

The confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO) and the China Enterprise Confederation have for some time been working together with The Ethiopia Employers Association to strengthen its capacity through financial and technical support. NHO is the main representative organization for Norwegian employers with companies ranging from small family-owned businesses to multi-national companies.

Ambassador Kvalheim participated in a workshop-panel in Addis Abeba on April 1st, organized by the three organizations – with representatives from chinese companies established in Ethiopia as an important target group. In his opening speech, Ambassador Kvalheim referred to the importance organizations representing employers and employees have had in Norway`s own development, and the relevance of this model for Ethiopia, which is on the threshold of industrialization. The Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions (CETU) also has a cooperation with the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. Ambassador Kvalheim further underlined the importance of adhering to the standards of Corporate Social Responsibilty for sustainable growth.
