Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom sign Joint Financing Arrangement with UN Economic Commission for Africa

Last updated: 27.06.2014 // Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom signed a Joint Financing Arrangement (JFA) on June 12 in support of the UN Economic Commission for Africa’s (ECA) 2014-2015 programme of work.

Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom signed a Joint Financing Arrangement (JFA) on June 12 in support of the UN Economic Commission for Africa’s (ECA) 2014-2015 programme of work. Denmark will also sign the JFA on a later stage. According to the arrangement, the funding partners will provide support for ECA’s activities in the following thematic areas: macroeconomic policy, regional integration and trade, statistics, social development, and gender, enabling the Commission to deepen its work in support of Africa’s development priorities. The JFA is a multi-partner framework aimed at harmonizing donor support by coordinating efforts, simplifying procedures and sharing information.

Norway is lead partner on behalf of the JFA partners. The Norwegian contribution for the period 2014 – 2015 will be up to NOK 20 million.
