State Secretary Laila Bokhari visited Ethiopia and the African Union on 28 and 29 November. During her visit, Bokhari opened two conferences and visited the Resource Center for Students with Disabilities and the Sexual and Reproductive Health Clinic at the Addis Ababa University. She had bilateral meetings and also met with Norwegian NGOs, UN-organizations and African Union officials. Read more

Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende visited the Horn of Africa between 25 and 29 October. ‘The region is facing armed conflict, humanitarian crisis and political instability. It is in Norway’s interest to support measures which can contribute to stability and development,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende. Read more

On 4th and 5th April, Ethiopia and Norway co-hosted a meeting on UN reform inviting director generals for UN affairs from several other countries. The two-day meeting saw discussions about reform ideas and policy recommendations for the next Secretary General of the United Nations. Read more
