The First ever Ethiopian Women's Trade Delegation to Norway

Last updated: 09.10.2015 // A handpicked selection of Ethiopian businesswomen just returned from a successful trade mission in Oslo under the leadership of the First Lady of Ethiopia, Mrs. H.E. Roman Tesfaye Abneh.

This delegation of Ethiopian women entrepreneurs were invited to Norway to showcase their products and meet with potential trade partners in Norway. The businesswomen were organized through CAWEE (Center for Accelerated Women's Economic Empowerment) which promotes Ethiopian women entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on women exporters, both existing and potential, mainly involved in small and medium enterprises. Some of the products highlighted included textiles, leather, jewellery, coffee as well as service providers in IT and tourism.

The main organizer of this delegation was Partnership for Change that primarily focuses in investing in women and youth to become change agents for social, financial and environmental sustainability through vocational education and female entrepreneurship. Along with other partners such as NABA (Norwegian-African Business Association), VIRKE (The Enterprise Federation in Norway) and Innovation Norway, this event was made a success.

The event was supported by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
