The global average temperature is rising

Last updated: 31.07.2015 // It is affirmed: 2014 was the warmest year ever measured. However, it seems that the record won’t stand for long – the first six months of 2015 were even warmer.

Two resent reports shows that the global average temperature is rising. The first report, State of the Climate in 2014, proves last year to be the warmest year ever measured. Shortly after this, a new report measuring the first half of 2015 (January – June) was released – showing that these six months were even warmer than the same months the year before. In 2014, June had a global average temperature of 16.33°C, but the same month this year turned out to be an ominous 0.22°C warmer.

These indicators show that climate change is not something that will occur in the future. Climate change is happening right now. In Ethiopia, Norway will continue the support of sustainable agriculture, fight deforestation together with the Ethiopian government and NGOs, and endorse reforestation and sustainable green energy. We also support the Ethiopian Climate Innovation Center that again supports enterprises that are developing solutions that addresses climate change.
