Evaluation of Gender Equality in Development Cooperation in Ethiopia

Last updated: 11.05.2015 // The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) has, in 2014-15, commissioned an evaluation of the impact of Norwegian aid on enhancing gender equality and women’s rights in Southern partner countries. Norway’s support to the fight against FGM in Ethiopia was declared successful.

The evaluation aims to identify lessons to help the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) strengthen how it plans, organises and implements future interventions to promote women’s rights and gender equality within Norwegian development cooperation. The evaluation focused on three country case studies of Ethiopia, Mozambique and Nepal.

Norway’s support to Ethiopia between 2007 and 2013, has been evaluated focusing on the extent to which results have been achieved (including shorter-term outcomes and, where possible, medium/longer-term impacts).
