University Cooperation to Improve Livelihoods of Rural Communities

Last updated: 30.11.2015 // The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation, Federal Republic of Ethiopia, signed a grant agreement of NOK 22 million on 19 November 2015. The grant is dedicated for Institutional Cooperation between Hawassa and Mekelle Universities and The Norwegian University of Life Sciences Phase IV.

The goal of this program is to contribute towards Susatinable Development of the nation through quality education, research and proper use of natural resources. The main purpose of the support is to strengthen the teaching and research capacity of Hawassa and Mekelle Universities to contribute towards improved livelihoods of rural communities in the rift valley and arid highlands of Ethiopia
