2013 - 2015
The implementation of the Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) is the beginning of a two year process, the Sector Reduction Mechanism (SRM), which will produce a number of transformational investment plans across the economy designed to be financed by donors and private sector. The SRM will develop a series of sector investment plans (such as energy, forestry and agriculture). These investment plans will (1) fully integrate climate change into the activities of that sector and (2) allow Ethiopia to leverage climate finance. GGGI will continue to support the Environmental Protection Authority, and relevant departments across government. The close relationship developed with these agencies, and GGGI’s approach to embed its teams within the agencies themselves, provides an important opportunity to continue the capacity building work started in 2010. Capacity building is central to our proposal and has the potential to have a lasting transformative impact in Ethiopia. Global Green Grwth Institute (GGGI) 45 828 000  PDF
